Don't Be Afraid

“A pleasure like what the thirst-perishing man might feel who knows the well to which he has crept is poisoned, yet stoops and drinks divine draughts nevertheless”

“I could not keep their lids under control: they would rise, and the irids would fix on him
He made me love him without looking at me.”

“My master's colorless, olive face, square, massive brow, broad and jetty eyebrows, deep eyes, strong features, firm, grim mouth—all energy, decision, will—were not beautiful, according to rule; but they were more than beautiful to me: they were full of an interest, an influence that quite mastered me.”

Jane, I really believe you should follow your heart and your feelings towards Mr. Rochester. You obviously feel very attracted to him, and that attraction isn't because of his physical characteristics; he is not beautiful, but you find him very interesting. When you first came into contact with Mr. Rochester, he asked if you thought that he was beautiful, and you said no, but you told me, the reader, that you found his face the object that you most like to see. Being in his presence makes you feel whole.

Like you said, he has made you fall in love with him even though you never intended to do so. When his attention his astray, you stare at him., which shows that something is overpowering you to feel attracted to Mr. Rochester, and your feelings can't be deterred. You try not to look away, but your love for him does not let your eyes wander. You are also aware of the fact that you should not have feelings towards your boss. This keeps you on the fence of separation and doesn't not let you go beyond that boundary. You try to keep your personal life separate from your business. But there comes a time when Mr. Rochester is allowing you to step out of your job and he wants to know about your feelings towards him. I also Know that you might feel awkward in the relationship, because he is wealthy and you are not, but I do not think that Mr. Rochester cares about that, and I'm sure you don't either. Jane, do not be afraid to fall in love. There is no point of letting yourself have all this feelings towards Mr. Rochester and not express them. You should let yourself be confined behind your doubts and beliefs of his secrets, but instead, take a chance. That is the only way you will ever find true love.

  1. You do a good job of looking closely at the details to see what they mean.
