Think it Over

As Jane has grown she has begun to seek interest and desire in men, but that is not the problem I see. The problem is who she has begun to seek desire in. In the last few chapters we have seen the bond or relationship between Jane and Mr. Rochester form. I am not sure why Jane has chosen this course but in my eyes she truly has taken the wrong one. Mr. Rochester is too suspicious and questionable for any woman to consider in dating him, and most of all Jane. An educated and witted girl like Jane should easily be able to see the deviousness in him. There are countless reasons why Jane should not be involved with a man like Mr. Rochester. For example in the passage: “Mrs. Fairfax said she should not be surprised if he were to go straight from the Leas to London, and thence to the Continent, and not show his face again at Thornfield for a year to come: he had not unfrequently quitted in a manner quite abrupt and unexpected.”(164) Here we see that Mr. Rochester is a very devious man. From Mrs. Rochester we learn that this wouldn't be surprising, because most likely he has done things like this in the past. Jane should be able to see suspicion in Mr. Rochester and how he is never straight forward. Jane really needs to be careful with this man because there are too many aspects about his life that are questionable. Love is a strong feeling, and sometimes it can make you do crazy things, so Jane really needs to be careful in what she is doing. I also believe that a relationship with one of your coworkers is not a smart thing at all. Jane may be getting herself into a sticky situation that she must be aware of.
