Love is blind

Dear Jane,

You said it yourself: you are in love with Mr. Rochester. You make it clear when you say, “I had not intended to love him: the reader knows I have wrought hard to extirpate from my soul the germs of love there detected; and now, at the first renewed view of him, they spontaneously revived, green and strong! He made me love him without looking at me” (177). I believe that you have to take chances in life, and that is exactly what you should do. Take a chance at love; you never know, Mr. Rochester might be the one for you. But you will never know unless you give it a try, right? It is said that love is blind, and I believe so. You said that Mr. Rochester wasn’t the most handsome guy there is, and he, like all other human beings, has his flaws. Although you might be blinded by love, you must always take a step back and look at the big picture. Mr. Rochester has his flaws, and so do you. No one is perfect. But what really matters is that you love him and he loves you. Love has no limits. Take a risk, and don’t let this chance go. Don’t give up on love or anything else, because the worst thing you can do is let the chance go and then later regret it. Even if you fail, you’ll walk away with your head held high knowing that you at least tried.

  1. Yes he does have flaw, everyone does, but don't you think that the flaws he does have are a bit too much for Jane to handle. Take his secrets for example, Mr.Rochester doesn't seem to tell her where he is going and why. If he can't share his secrets with her, then it is not worth being with him. Who knows what these secret could be. It is too dangerous.

  2. Of course, we must understand the flaws of others but not when we dont even know what those flaws are. Mr. Rochester has one major flaw, which is having too many secrets, and don't you think that amongst that flaw there could be many more hidden ones that could potentialy harm Jane? I think that when one loves another, one will try to fix their flaws so they wont get in the way of the relationship. Knowing this, why do you suppose Mr. Rochester has not tried to fix this flaw of his?

  3. It's true that everyone has to take chances in their lifes but, is Jane taking the right or wrong chance? Jane never knows what the outcome might be so it's worth it. It's better to tell Mr. Rochester how she feels than never tell him at all. Jane will never have an opportunity like this again. If Jane doesn't take a chance sooner or later then later on Mr. Rochester may not feel anything for her or might end up getting married.
